Biography

Jack Zondlo is a Nashville, TN based electric/upright bassist, bandleader and composer. Originally from Schofield, Wisconsin, Jack has been described as having “kind confidence” to his personality and performance. He is not afraid to work hard and go above and beyond to accomplish whatever musical task is at hand. This has been evident since picking up the electric bass at age 12 and upright before attending college.

With professional experience in musical theater, jazz, country, classical, and rock, Jack takes pride in having a wide-ranged professional music skillset. He does everything he can to bring the music to life with proper stylistic traits. Some of these organizations/performances that he has been a part of include "Jordan Kahn Orchestra," "Hope Fellowship Church," "Four O' Clock Lab Band," “Christmas at Belmont,” Emerald City Bands "Party Machine", "Elevation", and "Downtown Fever." One Five Six Four Entertainments "IDT Band" and "E6," Life.Church Worship," “Kids from Wisconsin,” “Norwegian Cruise Line,” “Belmont Showcase Series,” and “Cedar Point Amusement Park”. Jack has performed with artists such as Daniel Fiamengo, Bella Hudson, Max King, and Jake Sommers  to name a few.

In addition to performing in a typical bassist role, Jack has been developing his own voice on the bass. Writing jazz-fusion tunes, the sound has been described as a mix of ECM and progressive rock. This comes from his influence of artists like Janek Gwizdala, Dream Theater, and Yellowjackets as examples.

Jack has been able to study with world-class faculty at Berklee College of Music, McNally Smith College of Music, Belmont University and the University of North Texas. Some of these instructors include Jeff Bailey, Gary Raynor, Joe Santerre, Adam Nitti, Travis Schilling, Roy Vogt, Craig Nelson and Lynn Seaton.

Jack holds a B.M in Commercial Music and M.M in Jazz Studies from Belmont University and The University of North Texas. Jack's debut jazz record, "Poetic Motion"  was released December 3rd, 2021 on all streaming platforms.
